Naisvuori
According to local legend, Naisvuori ("Women's Hill") got its name from the women who watched the Battle of Porrassalmi in 1789 from the top of the hill. Today, Naisvuori is one of Mikkeli's finest parks, and its observation tower offers magnificent views over the city. The summer café at the base of the tower is famous for serving some of the best waffles in Finland.

Infantry Museum
The Infantry Museum has been housed in two wooden buildings dating from the 19th century since 1982. Through its engaging exhibitions, visitors can learn about Finland's wartime history and gain a deeper understanding of the sacrifices made by war veterans. Temporary exhibitions also offer the opportunity to admire, for example, beautiful handcrafted works.
